Extra Credit..... its like a Dream Come True

Well if you already do not know my intellectual capacity, its pretty low.  However, due to recent events in British Lit, i have increased my grade!.... i know you are dying to know how... right?... well she said if we start a blog we get ten points added to anything we wont...... how amazing is that?.... well... i know you all probably do not care but at the same time.... in the back of your mind you are thinking.... Wow... i wish i could get extra credit.

Haha... ne ways.... i recently returned from a shane and shane concert.  Wow.... it was amazing.  They blow my mind every time i see them.  However, it was a long trip to get to our destination.  We drove all the way to Illinois!..... but the ride was fun.  I got to fellowship with friends.

Well, Church League Softball is starting in two days and i am super excited.  I am probably the worst player on the team but it is still fun playing.  What i am about to say may sound cheesy but hear me out.

Two nights ago at the softball fields, we had a practice.  However, there were no other church teams to play.  We decided to play an industrial team "like Cooper Tire or something".  Many of them were not what you would call the "mirror christian" but who am i to judge... because i fall into that same category.  Anyways, after the game was over and my judgement passed on some of the attitudes of the other players, we had a prayer at the end of the game.

You could have felt the air sucked out of the circle we were in.  Those guys were completely shocked at the question of "Can we pray for you?"  Immediately i began to hear prayer request from their lips.  It was like a punch in the face.  When my pastor asked if we could pray with them i figured they would just say nothing.  However, there was cancer, death, and pain in all of their families.

I say all this to say that we as christians need to be mindfull of the needs of people who surround us.  I thought the whole time we were playing these guys that they had no respect for who God was or is.  However, my attitude was changed when i seen their hurt and pain.  It was an experience that has changed my attitude on the world.  I seem to sometimes generalize people into categories and forget that i am just like them only i have a hope of something greater.

  1. Sooo glad you're getting extra credit. Is that the class you always "go to the bathroom" in? haha! too funny! We must be aware, there are people hurting everywhere. I know I've missed many opportunities to show the love of Christ. Thanks for this Paul.
